ThingWorx Ranked Best-in-Class in PAC INNOVATION RADAR Europe 2017
NEEDHAM, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 17, 2017 — PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) has been named Best-in-Class for IoT Platforms for Rapid Deployment by the CXP Group (BARC, le CXP, PAC). The PAC INNOVATION RADAR “IoT Platforms in Europe 2017” is the first study to evaluate IoT platforms in four different segments for specific applications. [Companies are evaluated based on several criteria that can be classified into two main categories, Competence and Relative Market Strength.] The evaluation provides a neutral, comprehensive, and detailed presentation of the perceived strengths and weaknesses of 30 providers in direct comparison with competitors. Across all four segments, only six companies were ranked as Best-in-Class: PTC, Bosch Software Innovations, GE Digital, IBM, Microsoft, and SAP.
PAC ranked PTC highest in Competence in the Best-in-Class quadrant, citing its ThingWorx® platform as enabling the quick and easy creation of IoT applications with focus on the rapid and flexible visualization of data for non-IT users. ThingWorx provides data and device management, application development capabilities, analytics and code-less augmented reality authoring via ThingWorx Studio. PAC also recognized PTC for its strategic IoT focus, activities and thought leadership, IoT device management capabilities, user experience, ecosystem and partnerships, USP, client references and market perception and coverage.
“PTC is leading the IoT platform market for quick and easy application development,” said Arnold Vogt, Principal Consultant / Analyst IoT, PAC. “This is even recognized by other IoT platform providers, because many of them cooperate with PTC to utilize this capability.”
“We are very pleased with the number of awards PTC continues to garner in recognition of our strengths and market leading position,” said Jim Heppelmann, president and CEO, PTC. “PTC continues to focus on developing tools and solutions that empower our customers to capitalize on the Internet of Things. It is rewarding to be a catalyst and trusted solution provider for companies that are fundamentally transforming their businesses.”
