EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Sept. 28, 2017 -- Tyndall National Institute, a leading European information and communications technology research center has developed an antenna for wearable Internet of Things (IoT) applications. There were several design challenges for this project, most notably the requirements that the integration of the antenna fit into a small footprint and perform well with human body contact. The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) Group at Tyndall used NI AWR Design Environment, specifically Microwave Office circuit design software, to develop accurate circuit models that quickly and efficiency analyzed the total impedance variation of the wearable antenna across the human body and arrived at optimal solutions.
