Sep 19, 2017 -- Roscosmos is the State Corporation that was established in August, 2015, to oversee and implement a comprehensive reform of the Russian space industry. State Space Corporation Roscosmos ensures the implementation of the Russian government’s space program and its legal regulation. Roscosmos is also placing orders for the development, manufacture, and supply of space equipment and space infrastructure objects. The State Corporation is also responsible for international space cooperation and tasked with setting the stage for the future use of results of space activities in Russia’s social and economic development.
The 17th International Scientific and Technical Conference “FROM IMAGERY TO DIGITAL REALITY: ERS & Photogrammetry” is a well-known international event, which combines the experiences of users of geoinformation, suggestions from the leading data and equipment providers, and the latest theoretical insights and courses of development for our entire field. The organizers of the conference are the Racurs Company from Moscow and the Israel Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ILSPRS). The conference is held with the scientific support of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). This year Israel was chosen as a venue of the conference. The importance of this state in the world scientific and technical achievements is undeniable; Israel is rightfully included in the Top-5 most innovative countries in the world in accordance with Bloomberg. The conference will be held from 16 to 19 of October, 2017 in Hadera, Israel. The final registration deadline is September 29, 2017.
As Mr. Mikhail Khaylov, deputy head of Roscosmos, noted: “The State Corporation considers the conference as an important instrument to promote advanced Russian achievements in the ERS field to the world market.” Roscosmos supported the conference as a platinum sponsor.
State Corporation Roscosmos will be represented by Valeriy Zaichko, deputy director of the Navigation Space Systems Department. He will present Roscosmos’s innovative projects on the development of Russian remote-sensing data to the participants of the conference.
Representatives of Roscosmos’s leading enterprises—responsible for creation and operation of the Russian remote sensing constellation—will provide more detailed information about its capabilities and satellite specifications and data characteristics.
Maksim Kliushnikov, deputy chief designer of Progress Rocket Space Centre (Samara, Russia), will present remote sensing system Resurs-P. Progress Rocket Space Centre, since the end of the Sixties, has been a huge domestic developer of exclusive satellites for scientific and applied use.
Oleg Gomozov, head of the Scientific-Production Complex, Research Institute of Precision Instruments (Moscow, Russia), will uncover the role of global satellite data in the digital economy. The institute’s business activity is focused on designing and manufacturing diverse radio-electronic and software products for the space industry.
Alexey Peshkun, deputy head of department, JSC RSS, Research Center for Earth Operative Monitoring (Moscow, Russia), will present a methodology of Kanopus-V data processing. The center carries out acquisition, recording, processing, archiving, cataloging, and dissemination of space data from domestic and foreign remote-sensing spacecraft.
Ekaterina Lomonosova, leading specialist, VNIIEM Corporation (Moscow), will demonstrate possibilities of the newest Kanopus-V-IR satellite. VNIIEM is the state-owned corporation specializing in space monitoring systems, information, control, and electromechanical complexes.
The number of communication, exhibition, and technical floors oriented to Russian remote-sensing data will be organized in the frame of the conference. A meeting will be held with foreign dealers of Racurs Company, the organizer of the conference, and representatives of Roscosmos. Issues of joint promotion of the company’s program products and Russian remote-sensing data will be discussed during the meeting. Methods of photogrammetric and thematic data processing received by Resurs-P and Kanopus-V will be considered at the master classes on the third day of the conference.
The conference gives participants a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of the Russian system of remote sensing—from the development of devices to thematic products—and also to hold negotiations with decision-makers.
