SAN JOSE, Calif. & BEIJING — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 11, 2017 — Immersion (NASDAQ: IMMR), a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that it has renewed a licensing agreement with Perfect World, a top Chinese game developer/publisher. Perfect World will expand adoption of Immersion’s tactile feedback technology in the mobile version of its well-known action role-playing game, Torchlight.
A breakthrough in power and revolutionized gameplay, the upgraded Torchlight game further strengthens powers and personalized character tactics in a fierce “War of Thrones.” To create this enhanced interaction, Immersion designed 47 tailored tactile effects for various scenes, enabling players to feel personalized shock sensations brought about by different characters. This improves the gaming experience as players use skills and strategy, along with a variety of fighting modes, to battle for supreme honor titles.
“We are pleased that Perfect World’s Torchlight continues to integrate our tactile effects, which bring a truly immersive and interactive experience to game players,” said Shuo Liu, General Manager of Immersion Greater China. “We are impressed with Perfect World games and look forward to the continued creation of world-class entertainment experiences with our haptic technology.”
