The Constructech Vision Awards recognize companies that have realized the advantages of advanced technology to improve business results in the construction industry and related fields. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) received the Gold Award in the Transportation Category for its use of technology in the CTA's five year, $1.9 Billion Capital Improvement Program. Citadon was awarded the Technology Enabler Award for its role in providing web-enabled project coordination and collaboration services across a large, diverse project team.
The Chicago Transit Authority operates the nation's second largest public transportation system, which serves the city of Chicago, 38 surrounding suburbs and 1.5 million riders each weekday. The CTA has integrated numerous individual projects intended to extend the life of the restored transit system by an additional 40 years while also providing new facilities. Citadon is being used to help manage all of the major projects in the program, including the two largest projects -- the reconstruction of platform extensions, track and infrastructure to increase the Brown Line's capacity by 33%, and the rehabilitation of the Douglas Branch of the Blue Line.
"Citadon is committed to helping our clients save time and money by automating and streamlining their business processes within and across their organizations," said Howard Koenig, president and CEO of Citadon. "We are extremely honored to be recognized by Constructech for our efforts."
