Cityworks and SeeClickFix Help Westland, MI Connect with Citizens

Sandy, UT, May 18, 2017 — Cityworks is proud to partner with SeeClickFix to help the City of Westland, Michigan, connect with their citizens. Last month, the city launched the Westland Click & Fix app, a citizen reporting tool for its more than 85,000 residents, powered by SeeClickFix. The integration allows citizens to easily submit quality-of-life issues like potholes, damaged streetlights, and graffiti from their personal devices through SeeClickFix, which automatically creates a Cityworks service request that is sent to the proper city department.

“The residents of Westland are our first line of defense to spot issues around the city, and with this new tool, they can communicate their concerns quickly and conveniently,” commented Mayor Wild. “We are committed to finding new innovations and technologies that allow us to communicate with the residents efficiently and improve transparency.”

With Westland’s Click & Fix app, citizens can easily report issues on the go, receive real-time updates on the city’s progress, receive notifications when work is completed, and connect with the city’s social media platform. With these new tools, Mayor Wild wants to engage more citizens, increase internal efficiency, and add to the Michigan way of providing government transparency.

“We are always pleased to see organizations improving business processes with Cityworks, and what a great thing to see Westland implementing it in ways that connect them to their community,” said Wayne Hill, executive vice president of client relations at Cityworks. “Westland is showing the kind of forward thinking that encompasses smart cities.”

Westland Click & Fix is available for free on both the Apple App and Google Play stores.
