Visual Industry Promotion Organization and KADOKAWA ASCII Research Laboratories Launch "Japan Content Catalog" on Website

TOKYO, March 6, 2017 — (PRNewswire) — The Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) announced the launch of the Japan Content Catalog, an online index providing ready access to intellectual property-related information stored in five different databases. The Catalog facilitates the acquisition of usage rights for Japanese movies, TV shows, video games, comics, animation and characters, and music.

The main feature of the Japan Content Catalog is that it integrates information previously available only separately on the following five websites:

Movies: Japanese Film Database (JFDB) ( http://jfdb.jp/en/ )
TV Shows: FOYER TV for JACC ( https://jcc-tv.foyer-online.com/signin )
Video Games: Japan Content Catalog powered by FOYER
( https://jcc-game.foyer-online.com/signin )
Animation and Characters: Anime Chara DB ( http://animecharadb.jp )
Music: Sync Music Japan Database ( http://syncmusic-artists.jp/ )

The Japan Content Catalog provides instant access to information contained in the above databases, significantly simplifying a process that until now has required different methods of application depending on the content genre. In addition to providing general information on a wide range of Japanese intellectual property across various genres of creative content, it also provides users with information on which copyright holders contact to obtain commercial usage rights.
