Training Guide and Instructor Tools Offer Best Practices and Custom Approaches to Using Revit for Landscape Design
Owings Mills, MD — February 28, 2017 — Rand Worldwide (OTCBB: RWWI), a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, today announced that its courseware division, ASCENT- Center for Technical Knowledge, an Autodesk Authorized Publisher, has introduced their first training guide for landscape architects. Autodesk Revit 2017 Fundamentals for Landscape Architecture is available in print format from ASCENT’s eStore and Amazon.com and in eBook format through ASCENT’s eStore. It includes custom approaches, examples based on actual projects and hands-on exercises designed to teach landscape architects, as well as the CAD and BIM managers who support them, to effectively use Autodesk Revit for their landscape designs.
“With today’s focus on digital construction, where building information models are standard requirements, landscape architects are being asked to provide 3D Revit files that seamlessly integrate into larger building project models,” says Paul Burden, director of product development, ASCENT. “Moving from 2D AutoCAD to 3D Revit software involves a steep learning curve and our latest title helps businesses navigate the path to profitable projects.”
The Autodesk Revit 2017 Fundamentals for Landscape Architecture training guide has three themes to lead learners through the creation and documentation of 3D project models for an urban environment.
1. Introduction to Revit – Addresses the learning curve that landscape architects face moving from 2D AutoCAD to 3D Revit and explains the Revit user interface and basic drawing, editing and viewing tools.
2. Using Revit for landscape design – Exercises and examples teach learners how to create a basic building with walls, doors, windows and roofs. From there learners are introduced to modelling hardscapes and Revit’s tools for adding components such as trees, site furniture and planting areas.
3. Construction Documents – Learners walk through the process of taking their models to the construction documentation phase allowing construction teams to turn their vision into reality.
Designed for Learners and Instructors
Autodesk Revit 2017 Fundamentals for Landscape Architecture is suitable for group or individual use, and instructors can purchase Instructor Tools, which include PowerPoint slides with detailed teaching notes, time guidelines for each topic, and answers to the quizzes.
