New 3D solid modeler now available to ODA members
Phoenix, AZ: December 7, 2016 – The Open Design Alliance (ODA) and C3D Labs today announced the availability of the C3D Modeler for Teigha, a new component that enables advanced 3D modeling operations through the Teigha API for CAD systems.
C3D Modeler for Teigha was developed by C3D Labs in cooperation with the ODA. It supports a wide range of 3D solid modeling functions, including the creation of solids, editing through Boolean operations, lofting, and chamfering.
“C3D Modeler for Teigha gives our customers another option for 3D solid modeling,” said Neil Peterson, President of the ODA. “C3D Modeler has been integrated into Teigha transparently, allowing our customers to use the same client API, regardless which underlying modeling kernel they use.”
“Developing the C3D Modeler for Teigha proved to be a fantastic opportunity to provide our technology to all ODA members,” said Oleg Zykov, CEO of C3D Labs. “They now have easy access to a fast solid modeler in their Teigha-based applications. Even better, they don’t have to pay a lot for licensing and development.”
C3D Modeler for Teigha is available through a tiered, royalty-free licensing model. More information is available on the ODA member portal at www.opendesign.com.
About C3D Labs
C3D Labs (ASCON Group) specializes in the technology-intensive market of PLM components. The company develops and markets the C3D Toolkit used by developers of CAD/CAM/CAE systems and educational institutions worldwide. In 2013, C3D Labs became a resident of Skolkovo, Russia’s state development office park.
Computer-aided design systems are the most widely known software in which components, like C3D, are typically used. As a critical software development tool, C3D is today the only modeling kit that incorporates all four modules crucial to CAD: 2D/3D modeling, 2D/3D constraint solving, 3D visualization, and 2D/3D data exchange.
