NEW YORK — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 26, 2016 — Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC):
WHAT: World Maker Faire*, New York
Intel’s
passion and commitment to broadening the opportunities for people of all
walks of life to both participate in and be exposed to the creation of
new technologies will be in full effect at this year’s
World
Maker Faire*. Visitors to the booth will be among the first to work
hands-on with
Intel®
Joule™, a sophisticated new high-performance compute platform
targeted at Internet of Things (IoT) developers and entrepreneurs.
Enthusiasts will be encouraged to explore more than a dozen interactive
demo stations that showcase Intel’s growing and diverse portfolio of
maker and developer platforms. These include popular inventor module
Intel®
Edison right through to hobbyist and
entry-level boards Intel® Galileo and
Arduino
101* (powered by the Intel® Curie™ module). Exhibits will
include a reimagined DJ experience from
Thud
Rumble*, featuring live performances by the world famous
Invisibl Skratch Piklz*, a selection of Intel Joule-powered robots from
VStone*
and
BLT
Robotics* featuring human-like senses and a state-of-the-art musical
and motion demo, among other displays.
The diverse suite of demonstrations has been handpicked to inspire and delight show visitors and bring to life Intel’s belief that great ideas and technology can help change the world, and that great ideas can come from anywhere. To highlight this, attendees can also get up close with innovations and inventors featured on Season One of America’s Greatest Makers. The Tadmn* bike-sharing team, WithMe* infant monitoring wearable and the Bladeless Drone* inventor will be demonstrating their progress since appearing on the show.
Coming up soon, the Intel Joule platform will join the Intel® Curie™ compute module as the technology co-stars of Season Two of America’s Greatest Makers. These tools will enable contestants to move their concept from dream to prototype and then into production at a fraction of the usual time and development cost.
