Synergis partners with 3DR to offer Site Scan, the premier aerial analytics platform for reality capture and cloud analysis

QUAKERTOWN, Pa., Sept. 13, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —   Synergis Engineering Design Solutions, a division of Synergis Technologies, LLC and an Autodesk Platinum Partner value-added reseller in the Americas, today announced that it has partnered with 3DR, North America's leader in commercial drone technologies. 3DR creates Site Scan, the premier aerial data capture and analytics platform that enables customers to safely, quickly and easily inspect, survey and scan work sites with the Solo smart drone and seamlessly deliver that data to the cloud for processing and analytics.

Synergis' extensive knowledge of the Architectural, Engineering and Construction markets puts it in the best position to work together with 3DR and offer Site Scan to customers to accelerate their businesses and provide real-time site data, affordably and safely. This new offering complements the current Synergis solutions offering with the latest innovation in reality capture and is an important addition to the product lineup. With decades of experience serving the AEC vertical, Synergis will also offer extensive training and consulting services to support customers in leveraging the use of Site Scan in their current workflows.

"Capture technology is rapidly transforming the way our customers collect information and make insightful decisions in the field," said Kristen Tomasic, vice president of Synergis Engineering Design Solutions. "We are excited about our expansive collaboration with 3DR to accelerate the use of reality capture across the industries we serve."

Intuitive experience for field professionals

The Site Scan app supports all reality capture needs with three modes: Inspect, Survey and Scan. The workflow — from flight and collection to processing and importing data — is managed entirely on the included Sony tablet, with a simple and familiar app interface designed for the business user. Site Scan automatically calculates a flight plan for Surveys and Scans, and Solo autonomously executes both flight and image capture. Inspect allows users to easily examine and photograph towers and other structures with everyday swiping and pinching on the tablet screen. Survey captures images to create high-resolution georeferenced maps and digital elevation models, while Scan captures imagery to create 3D models. This data can be seamlessly integrated into popular Autodesk design and engineering platforms, like Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Autodesk Infraworks 360 software, Autodesk ReMake software and many other offerings.  Customers can easily measure distances, areas and volumes with the reality capture data products that Site Scan creates, eliminating the need for costly alternatives.

Powerful, professional-grade tools from 3DR, Autodesk and Sony Site Scan automatically captures high-resolution images and securely uploads that data to the 3DR Cloud and then to the Autodesk ReCap software processing pipeline. Once processed, the reality data (3D point cloud, 2D orthographic views and 3D mesh) is available for consumption and for use with many Autodesk products, supporting various use cases such as monitoring sites, measuring stockpiles, getting the as-built context and survey and mapping.

"We're delighted to collaborate with Autodesk Platinum Partner — Synergis — to deliver Site Scan, the complete reality capture solution that will help their customers save time, save money and keep humans out of harm's way," said Keith Bigelow, VP of Enterprise of 3DR.
