CATIA V5, CATIA V6 and NX Libraries Updated
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Sep. 13, 2016) -- CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released a number of significant updates to its Open Data eXchange (ODX) libraries focusing primarily on major enhancements for Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) support across multiple formats.
“Model-based Design and Engineering is no longer an abstract idea. It is a reality in today’s complex engineering and manufacturing environment. Our customers’ constant need for more comprehensive support for PMI information has been the driving force behind these new set of enhancements,” said Vinay Wagle, VP of Sales and Marketing.
PMI includes annotations and attributes in a 3D solid model that complement the geometric definition and is a critical data component of a 3D solid model that enables Model-Based Engineering (MBE).
CCE’s ODX libraries for CATIA V5 and NX have been updated to support additional PMI information, including datum target symbols and annotation with multiple leaders. For its CATIA V6 libraries, CCE enhanced PMI support by providing non-semantic representation available in visualization document.

About Open Data Exchange (ODX):
Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently
supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS,
Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo®), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL.
Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++
are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing
the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate our libraries
into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to
the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly.
ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership
associated with the CAD system.
