Founded in 2003, the full service firm offers architecture and interior design for both renovations and new construction. WSA began using e-SPECS software in 2012 to assist in the process of specification writing for their community enhancing architecture. InterSpec, Inc. is pleased to provide software that allows the architects of Waldon Studios to do their excellent work efficiently.
“The number one benefit of e-SPECS is speed, number two, accuracy,” shares Robert Lyon, WSA studio director. “The environment that e-SPECS provides with their checklist boils down the sections and makes the spec writing process very quick. Prior to e-SPECS we would have to go back and forth through the work. e-SPECS helps us get through the process faster and without leaving something in the final manual that should have been removed, which can cause phone calls from contractors and CORs.”
Pictured above, the Bay Area Community Church Chapel is one example from WSA’s portfolio. This particular structure has won multiple prestigious awards, including awards from the American Institute of Architects and National Association of Church Design Builders. WSA’s 7-8 Project Architect’s designed approximately 45-50 projects last year. In total the company employs about 25 professionals. As they are the foremost experts on their own designs, the Project Architects at WSA are responsible for writing the specs themselves. All projects written by WSA are done using e-SPECS software.
Lyon shares that he is pleased to learn e-SPECS version 10 will be released soon. “I have made suggestions – given feedback in the past and then later have seen the change reflected in the updates. I really appreciate that.”
