Waukesha, WI — Walter, a leading cutting tool manufacturer, will showcase its latest technologies in Booth W-1700 at IMTS ’16, September 12-17, 2016, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL.
Highlights of the exhibit will include the Walter M4000 program which uses an innovative insert system that has a single, basic shape compatibility with every M4000 body. The inserts can be used in all tools within the M4000 range to reduce tool and storage costs. Standard cutter styles include high-feed, end, chamfer, T-slot and helical mills.
Also on display will be line extensions of its DC170, a new type of solid carbide, internally cooled drill that raises the bar in terms of performance, stability and reliability in the drilling of ISO-P and ISO-K materials. Its unique appearance, with an innovative land design that orients the margins radially and with a copper-colored finish (DPP Coating), provides exceptional performance.
A new high-end, TC142 blind hole tap from Walter will be showcased. The family of TC142 blind hole taps are precisely designed for machining stainless steels, ISO M materials, to a depth of 3 x Dn.
Walter Turn Precision Coolant will also be featured in the exhibit—a powerful and targeted coolant delivery system that produces a direct coolant supply through the insert clamp and along the flank face of the insert.
To work with the Precision Coolant turning tools, the RM5 roughing geometry, with new cutting-edge design, for stainless steels has been designed with coolant channels to target delivery of coolant under the chip and as close as possible to the cutting edge for further increase speed capability.
In grooving, new Precision Coolant tools will be highlighted at IMTS: G2042 parting blades in both standard and reinforced shank versions; G1011 grooving holders with coolant supply to both the rake and flank faces of the insert; and G1511 shallow grooving holders.
Tiger·tec® Silver PVD aluminum oxide coated inserts are designed for the efficient machining of stainless steel, high temperature alloys, and other materials with difficult-to-machine properties. The new WSM10S, WSM20S and WSM30S grades are paired with three new positive insert geometries for finishing to roughing applications.
