Runtime’s vendor-agnostic solution is capable of managing job scheduling requirements of the Cadence® Palladium®, Mentor Graphics® Veloce®, and Synopsys® ZeBu® product families
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 6, 2016 — Runtime, a leading provider of infrastructure and design optimization software solutions, announced a high-performance Hardware Emulation Resource Optimizer™ (HERO). HERO is built specifically for hardware emulation design verification environments.
Hardware emulation is becoming a mainstream design tool for design verification after the advent of bigger and more complex system on chips (SoCs) that contain multiple processor cores and exceed hundreds of millions of gates. The EDA market offers an array of emulators, each with its own unique scheduling methodologies and requirements. Runtime’s vendor-agnostic solution, HERO, is designed to manage these complex hardware emulation workloads and optimize emulator resource management. HERO addresses all aspects of a hardware emulation environment from design compilation, synthesis, simulation, and emulation.
“HERO extends our focus on the design verification and emulation needs of our customers,” said Dr. Andrea Casotto, founder and CEO of Runtime. “It extends Runtime’s design and infrastructure optimization solutions into the growing EDA emulation market and offers a vendor-agnostic tool that is continually adaptable as newer emulation products emerge.”
HERO is equipped with a comprehensive set of policy management features. Working with hardware emulation platforms, HERO identifies and suspends lower priority jobs, then resumes them after higher priority jobs complete. This enables organizations to set and alter their policies to optimize workload environments and maximize the use of their hardware emulation assets. HERO provides unique visualization capabilities to facilitate identification of emulation resources’ usage at any given time. HERO’s emulation specific metrics provides system administrators and management with full visibility into the utilization of emulation platforms. This allows them to adjust their organizational priorities to maximize usage of their expensive hardware assets. HERO’s graphical user interface allows for failure identification capabilities that provides quick insights into completed, failed, and queued jobs. System administrators can easily identify any given job status and drill-down to the root cause of a failing job by bringing up all relevant log files.
HERO will be available later this year. Runtime is attending the 53rd Design Automation Conference (DAC) at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas from June 6-8, 2016 in Booth #1728. Please contact your Runtime sales representative to schedule a private appointment.
