New York, NY, May 16, 2016 -
Riverside Research, a not-for-profit company primarily serving the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, has partnered with the
United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) to create the Ken Miller Scholarship for Advanced Remote Sensing Applications. Offered for the first time in fall 2016, the $10,000 scholarship will benefit students who plan to enter the intelligence workforce. Riverside Research and USGIF plan to award one $10,000 scholarship each academic year for the next three years.
“Riverside Research is honored to partner with USGIF to further the education of future Intelligence Community professionals,” said Dr. Steven Omick, Riverside Research President and CEO. “In order to ensure the nation’s continued security, it is essential for organizations like Riverside Research to invest in our future workforce by providing the necessary education and learning opportunities.”
The Ken Miller Scholarship for Advanced Remote Sensing Applications, named after a founding father of measurement and signatures intelligence (MASINT), is funded by sales from the Riverside Research-authored textbook, The Phenomenology of Intelligence-focused Remote Sensing. To date, Riverside Research has distributed more than 350 textbooks, and copies will be available for purchase at USGIF’s GEOINT 2016 Symposium, May 15-18 in Orlando, Fla., at the USGIF and Riverside Research booths. An exclusive discount will be offered to symposium attendees.
