Takashi Iyoda wins $25,000 USD prize with Dungeon Tiles, a strategic puzzle game built with Corona SDK
AUSTIN, Texas & PALO ALTO, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 3, 2016 — Corona Labs by Perk.com Inc. (TSX: PER) (“the Company”), a leader in 2D mobile game and app development, today announces that Takashi Iyoda, a game developer who used Corona SDK to build his tvOS app, has won the $25,000 Grand Prize in AppLovin’s Apple TV App Challenge.
Takashi Iyoda used Corona SDK to develop Dungeon Tiles, and was selected as the winner of the contest portion of the App Challenge. Participants were required to submit an unpublished, original (not a port) tvOS app in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.
“Dungeon Tiles is a strategic puzzle game with minimalism and RPG elements in which players swipe the touch surface to collect swords, dragons, lives, and gold,” says Takashi Iyoda. “With Corona SDK, I was able to rapidly develop Dungeon Tiles.”
Roj Niyogi, CEO of Corona Labs, says “We are excited to see a member of our global developer community win a high-profile event like the AppLovin Apple TV App Challenge. In contests like these, speed is critical, and we strive to offer developers the best tools available to develop games and apps 10x faster. We are proud to add Dungeon Tiles to the long list of top-tier games built with Corona SDK.”
Dungeon Tiles is set to launch on Apple TV this June. If you want to read more about Iyoda’s big win, check out the summary of this year’s event here.
