Faraday's MIPI IP Subsystem Shipment Reaches Fifteen Million

Consisting of MIPI D-PHY, RX Combo PHY IP, CSI-2, DSI, and Prototype, the subsystem has been adopted widely in the market

HSINCHU, Taiwan, March 31, 2016 — (PRNewswire) — Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), the leading fabless ASIC/SoC and IP provider, today announced that its MIPI IP subsystem has been adopted widely and accumulated the shipment of fifteen million. The customers include giant system companies and leading fabless vendors around the globe, and cover applications of mobile, surveillance and Digital Still Camera (DSC).

Faraday's MIPI IP subsystem provides two integrated solutions for camera and display applications. The camera solution is with Camera Serial Interface (CSI-2) controller and the combo PHY IP, integrating MIPI D-PHY and low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS), and HiSPi, which can support various interfaces for IoT, mobile, and camera applications, such as wearable and mobile devices, DSC, surveillance, and automotive devices. The Display solution is with the Display Serial Interface (DSI) controller and MIPI D-PHY IP to enable Ultra-High Definition (UHD) video capture for mobile, consumer, and surveillance applications.

"Through the close collaboration with leading-edge SoC customers, we saw increasing MIPI adoption in various applications beyond the mobile market," said Remi Yu, Vice President of Marketing and Business Project Development at Faraday Technology. "The shipment number demonstrates our solution's advantages and finds our solution a great fit to the escalating demand in market. We are glad to contribute to the technology upgrade such as features of ultra-high definition (UHD, 4K/2K). Furthermore, Faraday has an aggressive and clear roadmap ahead, and will definitely create more market successes soon with customers," he added.
