Mar 21, 2016 -- Northern Ireland startup, Cianad Software, have announced the launch of their innovative new online mapping platform, Azimap.com. Azimap began development in 2014, led by husband and wife team, Ciara and David McQuillan, who spotted a gap in the market for an affordable, easy-to-use yet feature rich online mapping tool.
“Setting Azimap apart from the pack”, Managing Director, David reveals “is its suite of advanced spatial analysis tools. Users can capture, create, edit and publish data seamlessly in one complete online GIS. Azimap is powerful, fully configurable and ultimately removes the requirement for multiple expensive desktop GIS software licenses.”
The initial development of the software was supported by Invest Northern Ireland R&D funding, with the strategic goal of developing an online mapping system that would overcome the barriers that hinder smaller organisations from implementing GI systems; specifically to be cost effective, easy to use yet feature rich, cloud-based and with users retaining ownership of their data.
David explains “Our team has over 20 years of experience and having worked with both good and bad mapping platforms we knew what features we needed in order to meet the needs of both the novice and expert user. It has been specifically developed to focus on performance and usability whilst still packing all of the features you would expect from a high-end GIS.”
