EXTON, Pa., U.S.A. – February 17, 2016– Bentley Systems announced the availability of Bentley Rail Track SELECTseries 4, its rail design and maintenance application that leverages the same civil design modeling technology underpinning OpenRoads applications. Key capabilities include:
- Ability to incorporate data from almost any source and link with any design object
- Vigorous rail geometry for preliminary, detailed, and maintenance design
- Extensive functionality for yard layout with turnout and switch placement and regression and slew analysis for maintenance design
- Plan, profile, and cross-section workflows with 3D modelling to accelerate design tasks
- Parametric design features that incorporate rules, relationships, and constraints into modelling workflows
- Robust subsurface utility design and analysis for hydraulic and hydrology work
- Constraint-driven templates
- Context sensitive, intuitive interface
- Dynamic modeller for on-the-fly visualization
Bentley Rail Track helps advance rail design, construction, and operations through the use of industry-leading civil design modeling innovations including immersive modeling, design intent capture and persistence, hypermodeling, information mobility across engineering disciplines and project phases, and construction-driven engineering.

The new version of Bentley Rail Track also seamlessly integrates with Bentley Subsurface Utility Engineering to provide automated 3D modeling of subsurface utilities. The software also integrates with StormCAD, CivilStorm, SewerCAD, and SewerGems to enable efficient hydraulic and hydrology design in rail projects. Combining these innovative capabilities with the already robust rail geometry of Bentley Rail Track results in ideal software for rail professionals.
"Bentley's Rail-Track functionality provided a vast array of enhanced design tools that enabled Rhomberg Rail's track designers the capability and freedom to effectively produce extensive, complex track solutions in an efficient and timely manner, beneficial to the Adelaide Railway Upgrade project," stated Dylan Tate, permanent way design engineer, Rhomberg Rail.
