nomos System Connects KNX With Samsung's SmartThings on Intel's IoT platform

AMSTERDAM, February 8, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —

nomos enables universal integration with KNX and Intel. The nOS is designed to unlock all multimedia, software, service and building automation protocols known today, connecting them with proprietary IoT apps such as Samsung's SmartThings or any other Apple HomeKit compatible app.

nomos system AG, a patented Internet of Things (IoT) automation software platform provider, announces today at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) the climax of interoperability - any app to any thing with nOS.

More and more apps, proprietary ecosystems and various alliances are rushing into market to provide intelligent solutions for building automation under the definition of IoT. But what does IoT actually mean? The new and global key word - IoT (Internet of Things), defines only single, intelligent components, which independently exchange data directly via the internet. That means in reality users end up with three, four or five individual ecosystems in their home, instead of just one.

When nomos system AG set out to address this issue, its goal was simple but ambitious: to create a software engine capable of connecting all devices in all environments and creating universal interoperability, regardless of standards or protocols.

Increasing now the broad compatibility of both nomos Operating System (nOS) and Intel technology, nomos shows an exemplary application; how individual IoT ecosystems like Samsung SmartThings can communicate with KNX a standard in building automation. As gateway between the two separated worlds nOS serves as universal abstraction layer. Being one of the few systems on the market nomos owns a direct communication into KNX and other software stacks. nOS generates access via the nomos Cloud API (REST & Realtime) to all automatically discovered KNX objects in a project, exchanging them to the SmartThings app and providing bidirectional communication between both systems.

Within the SmartThings service "My SmartApps" all elements become available to be controlled and monitored, even if they would not have been compatible before. nOS converts all protocols to provide easy access for any ecosystem and uniting them for a seamless user experience. With nOS installed on Intel's IoT gateways, users can collect, control and feed data to any frontend.

A broad range of OEM clients and partners in multiple verticals trust the horizontal implementable nOS solution, recently adding Intel, Hager Group and LG Hospitality Solutions in Singapure to nomos's impressive reference list.
