Virtalis Works with ART on Visionary Render 1.2

Virtalis has collaborated with German tracking experts, ART, to add Fingertracking to Version 1.2 of its Visionary Render software.

Jan 15, 2016 -- ART’s Fingertracking device allows you to track the orientation of the hand and the position of the fingers. It is wireless, works for one as well as for both hands and is available as a three or five finger version. Collaboration work is also possible, since a total of four hands can be tracked simultaneously.

Technical Director, Andrew Connell, said: “I am exceptionally proud of what the Virtalis R&D Team have managed to pack into Version 1.2. We made improvements right across VisRen’s usability and functionality from increasing the number and diversity of controllers to adding gesture recognition and post-processing effects. Working closely with ART, we have incorporated full finger tracking for both hands.”

Visionary Render allows users to access and experience a real-time, interactive and immersive Virtual Reality (VR) environment created from huge 3D datasets. Users can work alone, in small groups, or collaborate with distant colleagues in a common virtual environment to perform detailed design reviews, rehearse in-depth training tasks, validate maintenance procedures or verify assembly and manufacturing processes.

Sales director of ART, Ulrich Probost, said: “Interaction is crucial in VR applications, so I’m happy that we were able to include Fingertracking for gesture recognition within Virtalis’ VisRen, giving a more intuitive interaction method. Our close collaboration made it possible to turn a technically complex product into a beneficial and easy-to-use tool for the user.”
