ODX/SW Now Supports SOLIDWORKS 2016 Data
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Dec. 16, 2015) – CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released updates of its Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries.
CCE has updated its SOLIDWORKS ODX libraries with several enhancements.
“CCE’s purpose is to continuously stay current with market trends in order to provide our customerswith the best possible software; therefore, we strive to align our software features with the needsof our users by constantly enhancing support for significantly used CAD software, such as SOLIDWORKS. CCE’s ODX libraries now have enhanced PMI support for SOLIDWORKS 2016, which is very important given the increasing focus on Model Based Designs (MBD) and enterprises investing in creating richly annotated 3D models,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s VP of Sales and Marketing.
CCE’s updated ODX libraries for SOLIDWORKS now feature a significant enhancement to its PMI support by including support for “collection features” in GTol, which is a way to combine one or more tolerances into a single group in SOLIDWORKS. This is a very efficient way of adding tolerance information for instances in a pattern. For example, let’s say there is a circular pattern of five holes where the tolerance information is the same for each hole; instead of applying GTol (30+0.05) to each hole, the combined representation of value can be (5X30+0.05) to indicate that five holes have the same tolerance. ODX/SW now provides both the tolerance information and instance count by way of its support for “collection features” in GTol.
CCE has also introduced some important updates to its SOLIDWORKS write libraries; there is now the ability to create configurations in a SOLIDWORKS part file. CCE has also improved attribute support by supporting document units and custom material information.

About Open Data Exchange (ODX) Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo®), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL. Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++ are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate our libraries into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly. ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership associated with the CAD system.
