"State Of My Head," the latest single from their current album "THREAT TO SURVIVAL," looks to continue Shinedown's historic run of chart topping hits, having already risen to the top 10 at Mainstream Rock and Active Rock outlets and quickly climbing the Alternative charts. The track's powerful companion video premiered earlier this month at Yahoo! Music and can be viewed now via YouTube.
Shinedown made a stunning chart debut earlier this year as "THREAT TO SURVIVAL" -- the band's fifth studio album and first new release in three years -- arrived at #5 on the overall SoundScan/Billboard 200 while simultaneously debuting atop Billboard's "Rock Albums" and "Top Hard Rock Albums" chart. This time around, Shinedown went in a different direction by working with four producers including the band's own Eric Bass, who produced the album's first single, "Cut The Cord". The #1 single spent a remarkable eight consecutive weeks atop Active Rock airplay charts nationwide. The single's explosive success continues a record-setting streak in which every one of the 19 singles released over Shinedown's decade-plus career has ascended to the upper regions of the radio charts -- a feat unmatched by any other rock band.
In addition, the " Cut The Cord" companion video -- directed by the band's longtime collaborator Darren Doane ("Devour," "Sound of Madness," "Bully") -- has already earned over 8 million views at Shinedown's official YouTube channel.
Shinedown has just returned from a blockbuster US tour, co-headlined by Breaking Benjamin. The cross-country trek proved a massive success, topping Billboard's " Hot Tours" recap with ticket sales exceeding $1 million from the final four venues alone. The 24-date arena tour took in an impressive $5.7 million overall.
What's more, the tour earned Shinedown some incredible reviews, with Loudwire proclaiming their live set as "explosive...In Brent Smith, the band has not only a commanding voice, but also the presence of an intense frontman determined to connect with the emotional consciousness of every single person in the audience. It was something of a rock and roll revival, with Smith again proving himself a master of reaching people through his pulpit of hope and brotherhood."
Shinedown's Brent Smith and Zach Myers are now wrapping up 2015 with a number of intimate acoustic shows, stopping this week in Flint, MI (December 15th), Traverse City, MI (December 16th), and Louisville, KY (December 18th). The band will then kick off 2016 by joining the UK's annual "Carnival of Madness Tour," alongside fellow hard rock icons Black Stone Cherry and Atlantic Records labelmates Halestorm for arena dates slated through mid-February. As if that weren't enough, Shinedown is already set to light up a number of 2016 festivals, including Ft. Myers, FL's Monster Energy Fort Rock (April 30th) and the UK's legendary Download Festival (June 12th). For up to the minute news and information, please log on to www.shinedown.com/shows.
Known worldwide for their unparalleled streak of hits, Shinedown is without question one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st century. The band's unmatched ascendancy over multi-format rock radio commenced with their 2003 debut "LEAVE A WHISPER" and the 2005 follow-up, "US AND THEM." Together, both albums yielded seven consecutive top 5 radio hits, including the #1 blockbuster, "Save Me."
Released in 2008, "THE SOUND OF MADNESS" proved to be Shinedown's mainstream breakthrough, debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200 before spending 120 consecutive weeks on the chart. The album made rock history, with each of its six singles reaching #1 on the airplay rankings, including the double-platinum certified crossover smash, "Second Chance," which also went to #1 on the Hot AC chart and top 3 at Top 40.
"AMARYLLIS" followed in 2012 and immediately entered Billboard's "Rock Albums" chart at #1 while also coming in at #4 on the overall Billboard 200 with over 105,000 units sold in the first week -- the multi-platinum group's biggest chart debut thus far. The album spawned a trio of massive hits in "Bully," "Unity," and "Enemies," all of which reached #1 at Active Rock radio, bringing Shinedown's tally of consecutive chart-toppers at the format to an amazing nine and counting. In addition, two additional singles from "AMARYLLIS" -- "I'll Follow You" and "Adrenaline" -- both reached the top 5 at Rock radio, furthering Shinedown's extraordinary streak of top-charting singles.
Hailed by fans as an explosive and exciting live act, Shinedown have toured hard throughout their career, including countless headline treks and high profile festival appearances. In addition, the band's numerous national television appearances include performances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and TODAY, CBS' The Early Show, and TBS' Conan, among others. In 2009, Shinedown received an American Music Award nomination for "Best Alternative Rock Band."
