e-Builder Selects University of Southern California as Construction Innovation Award Winner

University recognized for innovative use of construction program management software to increase productivity by threefold

PLANTATION, Fla. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 2, 2015 — e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction management software, announced during its user conference that the University of Southern California won its inaugural Construction Innovation Award. USC received the award, which recognizes excellence in construction program management software implementation and results, for its use of e-Builder Enterprise™ to support the largest infrastructure expansion in its history.

The university was selected by a panel of judges after initial submissions were narrowed down to an outstanding group of finalists including Inova Healthcare Services, Northeastern University and Memorial Hermann Healthcare System.

The institution’s goal was to expand USC’s impact on the community and the world by creating world class facilities to attract transformative faculty and students. While staying within a project’s budget is always important, USC recognized that any extra money spent during the building process would ultimately take away from the university’s core mission of scholarship, research, creative work, and health care to improve quality of life for people all over the world.

“e-Builder Enterprise allows us to maintain consistent policies and procedures across all of our projects, providing discipline and structure that help our project managers achieve success,” said Wendy Kaszycki, Associate Vice President, Control, Finance & Administration, University of Southern California. “This has helped us improve productivity, allowing us to hire positions like cost analysts, office engineers and doc control technicians that support our project managers, enabling them to identify and mitigate potential problems earlier. We have doubled our workforce while the dollar value managed per person has more than tripled.”

“While construction projects are notorious for high rates of financial waste, the University of Southern California demonstrates that not only can large organizations expand in a responsible manner, but they can do so with such efficiency that they have the opportunity to pursue other projects on behalf of their community,” said Ron Antevy, CEO, e-Builder. “We are proud to be a part of this impressive project, and hope it will inspire other facility owners as they tackle new challenges and developments.”
