LOS ANGELES, Nov. 23, 2015 — (PRNewswire) — AGAMEMNON FILMS, founded by film-maker Fraser C. Heston, is pleased to announce that the award-winning documentary, THE SEARCH FOR MICHAEL ROCKEFELLER (which premiered on Netflix last February) will now be available on DVD through Strand Releasing, on November 24^th, 2015.

THE SEARCH FOR MICHAEL ROCKEFELLER, about the disappearance and ultimate fate of the Rockefeller scion in New Guinea, was written, directed and produced by Fraser C. Heston. The DVD deal was brokered by Paul Hudson, of Outsider Pictures, an international sales and distribution company, which reps the film for all rights.

There has been a resurgence of interest in Michael Rockefeller and the timing is perfect. In 2007, Heston discovered a lost cache of unedited, previously unseen 16mm footage shot by Milt Machlin, (author of the 1973 classic The Search for Michael Rockefeller) during his 1969 expedition to the New Guinea in search of Michael Rockefeller. In 1961, Michael Rockefeller's trading canoe had capsized off the coast of New Guinea. Rockefeller set out to swim for shore, with the fateful words: 'I think I can make it...' He was never seen again. Or was he? 

"This footage is extraordinary," says Heston. "It's a time capsule of the last days of stone-age New Guinea. And offers a solution to the unsolved mystery of Michael's disappearance." The documentary includes interviews with missionaries who argue forcefully that Michael was killed and eaten by cannibals. But shocking never-before seen footage may challenge that assumption.
