DLAN 9.7 map markup tools can be used to perform mobile analysis on the data underneath objects drawn on the map. Hand drawn shapes or buffers, plumes loaded from hazard models, and objects or polygons from any GIS layer can all be used as reference points to inspect what might be impacted as a result. Data retrieved by the identification tools is available in a number of different formats that can be shared with other users and systems. This advanced inspection of data allows field staff to quickly get an idea on what will be impacted while they are on the scene.
DLAN's new mobile data layer viewer tool allows information provided by one layer to be used as the basis of analysis for information within another layer or service. Once the tool is visible on a map, simple controls give users access to all of the data contained within a layer. This layer information is then presented in an interactive manner allowing users to highlight individual objects in the layer, zoom directly to a set of objects in the layer list, and select the polygons and points contained within the list as a basis for analysis by DLAN's identification tool.
Rounding out these GIS improvements, Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) is proud to announce a new weather analysis integration with AERIS Weather services. AERIS Weather is a leader in weather analysis and provides numerous ways to visualize weather impacts like extreme temperatures, weather advisories, high winds, tidal patterns, drought impacts, precipitation forecasts, high resolution radar, and other weather products.
