Epsom, October 07 2015 - Astun Technology, the UK’s leading supplier of Open Source geospatial solutions, and Dotted Eyes, one of the longest established UK GIS companies, have joined forces to deliver a stronger roadmap for RMX4 web mapping customers. Under the agreement, which came into effect on 7th September, Astun Technology will now deliver the maintenance and support for RMX4 customers.
RMX4 users will benefit from continued support provided by a team of passionate Open Source specialists including a number of GeoServer and web mapping experts. With over 60 customers within Local Government using off the shelf and bespoke Open Source solutions, RMX4 customers will become part of a large community of users with a flourishing user group.
“We had a number of options open to us with regard to the future of RMX4, some much more financially attractive than this collaboration. However we felt that this novation to Astun would clearly be in the best interests of our customers and therefore it was the only choice to make,” said Ben Allan of Dotted Eyes. “Our companies have known each other well for many years and I have absolute confidence that our RMX4 customers will be best served by a move to Mike Saunt’s team at Astun.”
“We are delighted to take on the maintenance and support of RMX4,” said Mike Saunt, Managing Director of Astun Technology. “We are committed to supporting RMX4 customers and will offer an attractive roadmap for transition to Astun products when and if it is required. We are passionate about what we do and continue to play a leading role in the further adoption of Open Source geospatial technology in the UK.”
