  • 60GHz WirelessHD® modules provide visually lossless WirelessHD 1080p60 video
  • Simple and elegant way to connect video source to video sink, eliminating the clutter of messy cables
  • Cost-effective way to add wireless video support to digital signage, medical monitor and camera/camcorder systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 6, 2015SiBEAM, Inc., a Lattice Semiconductor company (NASDAQ: LSCC), today announced new WirelessHD transmitter and receiver modules that operate over the 60GHz millimeter wave frequency band. Based on production-proven WirelessHD chipsets already shipping in consumer electronic devices, the modules deliver visually lossless 1080p video streams at up to 60 frames per second and are an ideal video cable replacement solution in medical or industrial operating environments where cables are safety hazards. The wireless modules also reduce the cost of ownership in clean-room environments as there are no video cables to maintain and sterilize.

“We are proud to partner with SiBEAM to incorporate WirelessHD connectivity solutions in our next generation of wireless imaging platforms with the goal to deliver innovative solutions that enhance patient care,” said Darko Spoljaric, vice president of global marketing at NDS Surgical Imaging. “Integrating WirelessHD modules into NDS’ line of wireless video transmitters and surgical displays ensures our customers have high-quality and robust HD video connectivity between the endoscopy camera and our displays in a pixel-perfect image with near-zero video latency. With this future technology, we can eliminate cable clutter and improve efficiencies in a clinical setting.”

SiBEAM’s WirelessHD MOD6320-T transmitter and MOD6321-R receiver modules connect to a host board and provide wireless video connectivity between an HDMI® source and a display. Having attained various wireless regulatory approvals, the modules significantly reduce the complexity associated with wireless performance design, testing, and compliance standards in wireless system design.

“WirelessHD technology in the 60GHz millimeter wave spectrum has been delivering unparalleled wireless video experience in high-definition with near-zero latency in consumer applications for many years,” said David Kuo, senior director of marketing, SiBEAM, Inc. “We’re excited to see demand in broad markets and new applications. Our module offerings will bring 60GHz WirelessHD technology beyond traditional consumer electronics and mobile products to industrial and medical devices where wireless high bandwidth video, with near zero latency, can significantly enhance day-to-day operations.”

Key features of the combined SiBEAM MOD6320-T/MOD6321-R solution include:

  • 60GHz WirelessHD v1.1 compliant devices
  • Modular Regulatory approval – FCC, CE, IC, ETSI
  • PC video resolutions VGA through SXGA+
  • CE video resolutions 480i/576i to 1080p/60 Hz
  • Near-zero latency for minimal image lag
  • Support for surround sound audio
  • Support for CEC or AVC commands
  • HDCP content protection
  • Automated advanced power control, for energy saving operation
