OCt 1, 2015 -- Leaders of Europe’s National Mapping, Cadastre and Land Registry Authorities will meet in Belgrade next week to discuss their vision for European digital maps and land information.
More than 130 delegates are expected to attend EuroGeographics’ General Assembly which is hosted by the Republic Geodetic Authority, Serbia from 4 to 6 October 2015.
The high-level international forum will focus on the delivery of the European Location Framework which brings together digital maps and land information from different countries.
“Our members are working in partnership with public, private and academic organisations to develop an online gateway to European digital maps, geographic and land data,” says Ingrid Vanden Berghe, President of EuroGeographics.
“This will help create new business opportunities, increase the reuse of public sector information and contribute to the Digital Single Market, Copernicus and the United Nations Initiative on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM). ”
“By meeting the expectations and demands of the next generation of data users, the European Location Framework is absolutely vital to the future of National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registry Authorities. It is a practical implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and complements our members’ national activities.”
“We look forward to meeting colleagues from across Europe to exchange experiences and expertise to realise this vision for European digital mapping and land information.”
Conference speakers include Frank Leyman, International Relations Manager at FedICT, Belgium who will give the keynote presentation on delivering efficiencies and citizen services through e-Government programmes. Delegates will also hear from representatives of the European Environment Agency as well as EuroGeographics' Members and Management Board.
