Micran Relies on NI AWR Software for the Design of a Complex Space-Qualified X-Band MMIC

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Sept. 21, 2015 -- NI (formerly AWR Corporation) announces that Micran Research & Production Company designed an 8-11.5 GHz X-band amplitude/phase control monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) core chip for transmit/receive modules used in space communication systems using NI AWR Design Environment™. NI AWR software was chosen because the designers needed to be able to implement different types of circuit analysis (linear, nonlinear, EM) in an easy-to-use interface in order to successfully solve design problems and ensure a high design productivity rate.

“The use of NI AWR Design Environment software enabled our designers to concentrate on reaching the required technical parameters for designing a space-qualified X-band MMIC,” said Aleksey Kondratenko, chief of Micran MMIC Design Group. “In particular, Microwave Office software, with its comprehensive simulators, proved to be an ideal choice for our team to succeed in challenging MMIC designs.’’
