Officials to Release New Data Showing the Severity of Construction Worker Shortages Nationwide and By Region and State* During Media Call on Thursday, September 10 at Noon EDT

Sep 9, 2015 -- On Thursday, September 10 at Noon EDT, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) will release new data showing the severity of construction worker shortages nationwide and by region and state* during a media conference call at (800) 874-4559 (verbal pass code TURM61461). The new data is based on a comprehensive survey of construction firms nationwide and includes data on how many firms are coping with labor shortages and what some of the possible causes are for tight labor conditions.

Ken Simonson, the association's chief economist, and Stephen Sandherr, the association's chief executive officer, will release the new worker shortage data and identify measures public officials should take to increase the supply of qualified workers. David Little, chief business development officer with Wolcott, Colo.-based Gallegos Corporation, and Michael Sireno, President of San Antonio, Texas-based Baker Triangle, will discuss construction labor conditions in their markets. Following the announcement, Simonson, Sandherr, Sireno and Little will answer questions.
