Dimensional Control Systems is presenting at the 2015 SAE AeroTech Conference methods of using process capability as an identifier of process variation in aerospace manufacturing
Seattle, WA, Sep 9, 2015 – Dimensional Control Systems, Inc (DCS) will be presenting the paper “Total Quality Assurance of Aerospace Components Applying Process Capability Analysis” at the SAE Aerotech Congress and Exhibition September 22nd to 24th at the Washington State Convention Center.
Sponsored by The Boeing Company, this year’s conference theme centers on the international community, called “Global Partners: Shaping the Future of Aerospace”. As a chance for aerospace professionals to network and discuss innovations and developing trends in the aerospace industry, this event features presentations from industry experts at a number of leading aerospace companies including Airbus, Boeing, NASA and the United States Air Force.
As a provider of aerospace quality solutions, DCS’s vice president of sales, Donald Jasurda, will be presenting a paper titled “Total Quality Assurance of Aerospace Components Applying Process Capability Analysis” that discusses a case study on methods of improving production efficiency of an aircraft fuselage section throughout the product life cycle.
The paper highlights methods of connecting and streamlining disparate processes in manufacturing and then measuring and tracking parts using Cp and Cpk throughout the workflow in order to identify non-conformance issues and variation. Utilizing a combination of current market software tools and existing processes, this paper showcases a method of increasing manufacturing efficiency and yield in order to control the costs of quality, which are often represented as scrap, rework and liability issues.
