LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2015 — (PRNewswire) — On Saturday, September 12, Children's Institute, Inc. (CII), a 109-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and families in Los Angeles's most challenged communities, will team up with world-renowned architect Frank Gehry to unveil the design of the future Children's Institute Watts Campus. This special event will include the reveal of a large-scale design model of the new campus.
WHO: Architect Frank Gehry will be joined by a host of local political leaders, officials and community organizations who have thrown their support behind the project, including Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles City Councilmember Joe Buscaino and California State Assemblymember Mike Gipson, who plan to attend and celebrate the unveiling of the campus design. The event will be hosted by Accenture.

WHY: Headquartered near downtown Los Angeles, CII provides services to more than 24,000 children and families each year across Los Angeles County, helping them heal from the trauma of family and community violence, poverty and abuse. The organization has provided social services from leased facilities in Watts for the past eight years, and has been active in the area for more than a decade. Once completed, the new 50,000 square foot Watts Campus will enable CII to expand its comprehensive support services to more than 5,000 children and families in the area. Frank Gehry is donating his design services to CII.
