SAN DIEGO, Sept. 8, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  GIS Surveyors Inc., a geographic information systems (GIS) consulting firm that specializes in providing GIS and land surveying services, was recently certified by the federal government as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).

While GIS Surveyors Inc. was previously certified with the State of California as a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise, now as a SDVOSB, the company has the opportunity to work with even more government agencies across the United States. Since 2003, all government entities have an annual goal of awarding at least 3 percent of all government contracts and subcontracts to small businesses owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans, those awarded SDVOSB status.

Paul Loska, President of GIS Surveyors Inc. and service-disabled veteran of the Marine Corps, says that the certification will create new opportunities for the company and for its partners.

"The SDVOSB federal certification has opened a lot of doors for us to be able to work with more federal agencies," says Loska. "This certification also means that consulting firms can utilize our services and our status as a SDVOSB to go after larger government contracts. This new status gives us and our partners a competitive advantage when bidding on projects at the federal level. It is a very valuable asset."

Loska has more than 25 years of land surveying experience, including service as a land surveyor in combat. He and his team at GIS Surveyors Inc, an ESRI business partner, provides innovative solutions for the most challenging GIS problems. They have worked with a wide variety of clients, ranging from city and county municipalities to private utility providers and the Department of Defense. GIS Surveyors Inc. prides itself on providing clients with high-quality, customized products that utilize the latest geospatial and location-based technologies.

"Our commitment to providing our customers with innovative, unique and timely solutions will ensure that new opportunities will continue to present to us and our partners," says Loska. "We look forward to partnering with firms to service even more federal organizations in the near future."
