Austin, TX - Ambiq Micro, the leader in ultra-low power integrated circuits for power-sensitive applications, today announced the appointment of Vince Murdica as Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development. Prior to joining Ambiq Micro, Vince led Atmel’s Sensor Centric Systems Business Unit and Wearable’s Strategy. He joined Atmel upon the acquisition of Ozmo Devices where he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mr. Murdica brings fifteen years of executive experience with semiconductor, software, licensing and systems companies.
Commenting on his appointment, Vince Murdica said, “The explosion of electronic devices powering the IoT is opening up new use cases and applications, however, current technologies have reached a power consumption roadblock. Until now, semiconductor power efficiency has improved only marginally from generation to generation. Ambiq Micro's SPOT technology overcomes this roadblock by reducing power consumption by orders of magnitude. SPOT enables a massive reduction in power consumption over other solutions; it’s a real game changer for customers, the industry, and ultimately our world. I am excited to join Mike Noonen, Scott Hanson, and the Ambiq Micro team as we proliferate the adoption of this technology into new devices and use cases never before thought possible.”
Ambiq Micro interim CEO, Mike Noonen, said, “We are delighted to have Vince Murdica join Ambiq Micro. As the ultra-low power leader we needed to find an ultra-high energy leader to maximize the opportunity we have before us. We also wanted to find someone who had a technology and market vision to help us define the future of IoT solutions. Vince has consistently demonstrated success in growing new technology companies and delighting customers with innovative solutions and strong technical relationships.”
Scott Hanson, Ambiq Micro founder and CTO said “We are excited to have Vince join the Ambiq team. Vince believes in the potential for the SPOT Platform and also understands the drive to eliminate every last picojoule that we embrace at Ambiq. I personally look forward to working with Vince as the company grows and develops.”
Vince holds honors from The University of California at Davis earning a BA in Economics and a BS in Biochemistry. He also graduated with honors with a MBA from Santa Clara University.
