"For nine days, the Richmond region will host an international audience," says Moses Foster, president and CEO of West Cary Group. "It was important for us to collaborate with Richmond 2015 and the City of Richmond in order to create a site that demonstrates how prepared we are for the global stage."
The site includes information on course routes, street closures, transportation and parking options, and more. Detailing the logistics of each of the 16 races included in the event involved the development of over 70 maps with geographic information systems (GIS) data and using the Google API system to ensure the site was mobile friendly.
Within 24 hours of its launch, Navigate.Richmond2015.com was viewed over 8,000 times and garnered more than 43,000 page views. On average, users from across the globe spent over three minutes on the site.
"I couldn't be more pleased with the results," says Wilson Flohr, CEO, Richmond 2015. "You can't imagine the complexity behind building what appears to be a simple website – which is a testament to West Cary Group's digital and creative skill set. They designed a marvelous product for our organization, for the community and for the world."
