NVBOTS Introduces New 3D Printable Lesson Plans for Educators

3D Printing Innovator Expands Library of Curricula Focused on Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards

BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 29, 2015NVBOTS, creator of the world’s first fully-automated 3D printer, today announced the release of new lesson plans within its NVLibrary, which includes curricula incorporating 3D printable components. The latest lessons focus on: Introduction to 3D Design, 3D Printing for Prosthetics and Introduction to Engineering. As is the case with all of the NVBOTS lesson plans, the new curricula is designed to help educators easily integrate 3D printing into the classroom, and are written in line with Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.

“For 3D printing to truly be embraced and integrated within a school, adoption needs to be simple and NVBOTS makes that possible,” said CEO AJ Perez. “Teachers taking advantage of our NVLibrary lesson plans are able to easily weave 3D printing into their existing curricula, allowing them to expose students to the real-world application experiences necessary for confidence building. The result? They are able to challenge the status quo and innovate in ways never before thought possible, ultimately bringing their ideas to life.”

The latest NVBOTS educational modules include:

  • 3D Printing for Prosthetics: As part of this module, students will gain an understanding of the impact 3D printing can have on the medical industry through prosthetics, while getting the opportunity to 3D print a prosthetic hand.
  • Introduction to 3D Design: With this module, students learn about the entire 3D design process, while benefiting from hands-on activities that expose them to all that is involved with creating 3D-printable objects.
  • Introduction to Engineering: Geared toward beginners, this module will educate students on the nuances of engineering drawings, enabling them to effectively communicate how their designs need to be made.

In the coming months, NVBOTS will also be introducing lesson plans focused on history and the arts, based on the success of the STEM-focused plans and teacher requests. These include modules focused on the geography and history of Greece, the cotton gin, the Trojan horse and the USS Monitor, to name a few.

Each educational module is part of the NVBOTS easy-to-use and easy-to-share 3D printing experience, based on the NVPro, the first end-to-end 3D printing solution with automated part removal. Paired with the NVBOTS cloud-based interface, the NVPro runs continuously, 24-7 from any device.
