Jul 27, 2015 -- Solair, the Italian software company, was mentioned as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s “Market Guide for IoT Platforms”1, together with other 15 vendors worldwide.
The recent Gartner’s Market Guide offers a global landscape about the Internet of Things, its market evolution and the continually evolving scenario of the IoT platforms vendors. According to Gartner’s analysts “a growing number of established software and OT vendors, as well as specialized startups, are entering the market, and not all of them can succeed long term”. Gartner offers to CIOs some recommendations to identify the best possible technology solutions that make their case, noting “that the IoT will be a journey for most organizations with a strong "learning by doing component"; this will be a multiyear journey. The technical capabilities, cultural integration and business models will evolve in parallel to the digital business vision and the IoT roadmap evolution”.
For this reason, just to offer an orientation in this complex panorama, Gartner provides a list of some of the IoT platform vendors that analysts have identified on the world market, offering to CIOs a guide to support them in the implementation, adoption and use of these IoT platforms, starting from the premise that the market for IoT platforms is emerging, with many project types across the enterprise. It is a difficult market to navigate because technological and business requirements continue to evolve and vary by industry and region.”
“We believe our inclusion as a representative vendor in the Gartner Market Guide is not only a reward for our efforts but encourages us to invest further to continue offering cutting-edge technology that can respond to new companies business needs“ said Tom Davis, CEO at Solair. “Our focus is on the software and application side of the IoT Stack: we want to offer to customers solutions that are easy to deploy and quick to develop. According to this goal, we recently launched Smart Factory Advisor, a package solution for the IoT designed for the manufacturing world, ready for use. Thanks to Smart Factory Advisor, manufacturing companies can start approaching the IoT in a plug&play mode, with a low investment, and then over time scale to more complex projects.
