HOUSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 9, 2015 — 6th Dimension Technologies, the subsidiary of Changing Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: CHGT), is working closely with a Houston-based custom auto parts manufacturer to 3D print prototypes of fuel injection nozzles and fittings for use in nitrous race cars.
The project represents a unique challenge for 6th Dimension’s capabilities as these specialized metallic parts must be lightweight in construction and cannot be made using traditional manufacturing methods.
“This is an interesting test that demonstrates our overall expertise to the marketplace and showcases the power and versatility of 3D printing,” said CHGT CEO Marco Valenzuela. “The designs and shapes of these pieces are of such high detail and require skills so demanding that they are only able to be constructed using a 3D printing process. We’re grateful this client has entrusted 6th Dimension with a project of this complexity and magnitude. Successful completion of this project will help us acquire additional work in the future, driving revenues.”
The fuel injection printing project calls for 6th Dimension to print prototypes first using different lightweight metals, such as chrome and aluminum. Actual production runs will be printed on-demand, enabling the manufacturer to save on inventory and storage costs.
This project follows 6th Dimension’s recent news it is exploring 3D printing opportunities in the medical field.
