Richmond, VA – June 16, 2015  Timmons Group, a leading provider of geospatial enterprise solutions for over 25 years, recently announced they are working with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to provide application development services.  This contract includes developing a set of tools that will enable NDOT to more efficiently work with the Federal Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) data. Timmons Group was chosen for their application development and GIS expertise.  

Timmons Group developed a web-based browser tool which allows NDOT staff to validate its data against existing HPMS standards.  This tool provides a comprehensive history of dataset testing that is completed, and produces reports to more readily monitor testing results. 

NDOT’s IT Solution Delivery Manager, Sherri McGee comments, “We were not looking for a ‘one size fits all’ set of services for this contract.  We wanted to partner with companies that have proven experience and specific expertise.  We are pleased to partner with Timmons Group on our development initiatives due to their extensive background with application development.”

A purpose-based tool within the department’s enterprise GIS was also developed. This allows users to save several hours in manual updates by automating LRS updates to multiple event tables, which need to be applied prior to HPMS submittal.  Finally, Timmons Group developed a geospatial web viewer to enable easy analysis between their NDOT’s LRS data and the corresponding HPMS data that is associated with each route.
