CCE Announces Updates of its CATIA V5 & NX ODX Libraries
CATIA V5 Read/Write & NX PMI modules enhanced

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. May. 13, 2015 CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released updates of its Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries.

CATIA V5 and NX are widely used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Ability to have bidirectional data exchange is extremely important between the OEM and supply chain as various iterations of product models are worked on. CCE’s ODX technology is unique in that it can both read and write CATIA and NX data without requiring a license to those systems. The current release includes important updates to both read and write modules of CATIA V5, and enhanced PMI support for NX,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s VP of Sales & Marketing.

Here are some of the enhancements introduced in this new release of ODX libraries:

ODX/Cat5 (CATIA V5 Read) & WODX/Cat5 (CATIA V5 Write):

  • Version support has been extended to read & write CATIA V5-6R2015 format models (part/assembly/visualization).

ODX/UG (NX Read):

  • Version support has been extended to read NX 10.0 models (part/assembly).

  • Body attributes support has been enhanced to know if it is a pseudo body, part of the composite body, and tool body of an assembly feature.

  • PMI support has been enhanced by reading specialized texts.

  • Units information of the faceted data in NX files can now be accessed.

About Open Data Exchange (ODX):

Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL. Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++ are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate out libraries into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly. ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership associated with the CAD system.
