MakerBot Brings Design, Education and Engineering Together With Hands-On 3D Printing Workshops, Sessions and Talks During 3D Print Week New York, April 16 and 17 at the Javits Convention Center

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 1, 2015 — MakerBot, a global leader in desktop 3D printing, is a sponsor of 3D Print Week New York, held April 16 and 17, 2015, at the Javits Convention Center. 3D Print Week New York is a series of events and activities celebrating the creative and professional opportunities within the 3D printing industry. 3D Print Week New York will feature 3D printing product displays, workshops, keynotes and interactive sessions. As part of the 3D Print Week New York and the 3D Print Design Show, MakerBot has created and curated through its MakerBot Learning team a series of MakerBot Sessions full of educational and innovative workshops for educators, designers, engineers and the general public that brings together thought leaders in the field of design and 3D printing on April 16 and 17. In addition to MakerBot’s sponsorship and participation in the 3D Print Design Show, MakerBot CEO Jonathan Jaglom will be presenting a keynote at the Inside 3D Printing portion of the show at 1:30 p.m., April 16. MakerBot Training Manager Erin Arden will also be presenting at Inside 3D Printing on “How to Get Started 3D Printing,” in a tutorial session at 2:00 p.m., April 15.

To prepare for the 3D Print Design Show, MakerBot is offering an opportunity to participate in a MakerBot® Learning Primer on 3D Printing workshop for those that want an in-depth educational exploration of the MakerBot 3D Ecosystem. This all-day class runs from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., April 14, 2015, and is taught by experts in 3D printing with the intent of getting participants up to speed on MakerBot’s latest 3D printing technology. This class is held at the MakerBot headquarters in Brooklyn and is also a great opportunity to see MakerBot’s office and beautiful skyline view of New York City from a Brooklyn perspective. During the 3D Print Week New York, and specifically the 3D Print Design Show, MakerBot will be offering MakerBot Sessions, with MakerBot Learning Workshops, software and design demonstrations, interactive “design bars,” talks on 3D printing in education, engineering, architecture, design and more. Visitors to the MakerBot booth will have the opportunity to see large-scale 3D printed models from the MakerBot Design Studio, Simplus Design, Perkins+Will and Alvaro Uribe Design. The MakerBot booth will also feature software demonstrations throughout the day by Adobe Photoshop, Pixologic, Inc., Makers of ZBrush; Tinkercad/123D by Autodesk, Modo by The Foundry and Solidworks. Event attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with the featured software platforms with MakerBot’s hardware partner Wacom who will have numerous Cintiq Creative Pen & Touch Displays throughout the MakerBot booth.

Thursday evening, April 16, MakerBot will host a special MakerBot Party to get 3D printing enthusiasts excited for the week’s activities.
