With Focus on Innovation, Zhuhai CTC Electronic Establishes 3D Printing Material Research Center

ZHUHAI, China, March 11, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —

ZHUHAI, China, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/  -- Zhuhai CTC Electronic Co., Ltd held a press conference at Grand Bay View Hotel, Zhuhai on March 10, 2015 at which the many journalists and media professionals attending listened to CTC Electronic executive vice president Yang Xiaobo and vice president of business expansion and planning Allen Liang give an update on the company's most advanced 3D printing technologies, products and R&D results and engaged in a discussion on global technological development trends across the 3D sector.

Yang gave a presentation on the company's exclusive next-generation DLP optical format photo 3D printer. He said that printers using this technology will present a higher degree of accuracy than the traditional SLA technology and their speed will be 50 per cent faster.

At the event, CTC Electronic announced that the company would jointly form a technological research and development center with China Southwest Chemical Institute, focusing on research and development of the next-generation photosensitive resin. The newly developed products would target global markets. The center will appoint Qing Qiquan, industry veteran, experienced chemicals expert and former national research director at Lanzhou Chemical, as director, to oversee the research and development and system integration of SLA photosensitive resin, DLP photosensitive materials, FDM shaped distributed ABS linear materials and PLA3.0 generic moldable technology, as well as related processes and equipment, with a focus on practical application and commercialization of the results.

The research center will set up R&D facilities in Zhuhai and Shanghai. The Zhuhai facility will focus on early matching of advanced materials while the Shanghai facility will focus on the establishment of a comprehensive material testing and engineering verification platform.

In addition, Zhuhai CTC Electronic, a leader in the Chinese 3D sector, plans to make an initial investment of 3 million yuan (approx. US$483,000) and recruit 15 of the top research talents in the field, in a move to reduce China's reliance on imports of 3D printing products. This is CTC Electronic's second R&D center following the advanced 3D printing manufacturing facility established by the company jointly with Guangzhou University in 2013.

Zhuhai CTC Electronic is one of the largest 3D printing equipment and printing material manufacturers in China specializing in the production of desktop 3D printers and printing materials for professional 3D printers.
