JumpStart® Brings Back Childhood Classic & Launches Math Blaster Game on Facebook

25 Year-Old Game Goes from Floppy Disk to Facebook For Players New & Old to Relive the Fun

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 18, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  JumpStart®, the leader in learning-based games for kids, today announced that it has launched its Math Blaster game on Facebook, bringing back a 25-year-old childhood classic. Over the years, Math Blaster has transitioned from floppy disc to CD-ROM to become a massively multiplayer online world that's now available for free on Facebook and at MathBlaster.com. The new Math Blaster features exciting updates like improved graphics, MMO capabilities, and tons of fun mini games.  A learning tool in classrooms across the country since the late 1990's, Math Blaster is one of JumpStart's most recognized titles – and one that JumpStart plans to continue to expand across new and exciting platforms for players as it taps into the power of nostalgia for the beloved game.

"So many people – particularly those in their late teens and early 20's – have fond memories of Math Blaster from their computer lab days back in elementary school," said David Lord, CEO of JumpStart. "We're extremely excited to be reintroducing the game on a platform that's so convenient for those who loved playing it as a kid. We hope these users will enjoy the sharp new graphics, mini games, and other improvements we've made - and will want to share a piece of their childhood with a new generation."

Math Blaster is currently the only comprehensive, 3D online world for kids that incorporates math-based education – taking learning outside of the classroom and into outer space! Once players are logged in and on board the Math Blaster spaceship, they are able to create their own avatar, raise in-game pets (called Monster Mutts), and compete in mini games that range in difficulty. Within the mini games, players work to save the galaxy by sharpening their math skills, including addition and subtraction, fraction simplification, and long-form mathematics. The game does provide several in-app purchase opportunities, as well as membership enrollment to unlock even more learning and adventure – and to really relive the 90's.

To see if you still have what it takes to save the galaxy, play Math Blaster for free at https://apps.facebook.com/mathblasters, or visit http://www.mathblaster.com/.

ABOUT JUMPSTART

JumpStart® is the leader in learning-based games for kids. The reality is that kids today seek entertainment through gaming, yet the vast majority of kids' games do absolutely nothing to inspire their minds through learning. JumpStart changes that paradigm and brings a learning edge through epically fun gameplay. Because of the company's long history of excellence in providing learning-based products parents and families trust, world-renowned brands such as DreamWorks Animation partner with JumpStart to develop various educational mobile and web-based games. To date, the company has released several critically-acclaimed titles, including Madagascar Preschool Surf N' Slide™ and School of Dragons®, the ever-popular educational massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
