Jan 14, 2015 -- Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo) has hired Mike Wiley as Director of Strategic Engagements to lead its consulting outreach in the New York City area.
“Mike is an exceptional talent that we are delighted to add to our team,” said Rich Grady, AppGeo President. “He brings more than 20 years of consulting experience with nearly 15 years serving the New York City market. His experience and knowledge will enhance AppGeo’s capacity to serve the City and beyond.”
Mr. Wiley has spent the last 15 years working in New York City directing the planning and development of City government IT solutions. He helped the City conceive and develop a variety of geospatial solutions for diverse departments and agencies, such as environment, emergency management, 311 non-emergency city services, the Mayor’s office, housing, health, and IT. He has a BS in Environmental Design and a MS in Regional Planning focusing on GIS and Remote Sensing from the University of Massachusetts.
“I’m thrilled to join AppGeo” said Wiley. “I’ve admired AppGeo’s work and I’ve known its executives for greater than a decade. I share AppGeo’s company philosophy as a vendor-neutral consulting company doing what’s right for their clients. AppGeo’s technology independence is a distinguishing characteristic and, in my mind, an essential ingredient for success in today’s rapid diversification in the geospatial market. I look forward to working with all of the talent on the AppGeo Team to build a portfolio of projects for the City and surrounding areas.”
