Updates to OpenGeo Suite 4.5 help organizations manage spatial data; Limited-time discount on related training offerings
New York, NY, Dec 11, 2014 — Boundless, the leading provider of Spatial IT solutions, has released OpenGeo Suite 4.5 to help organizations manage spatial data and build applications across multiple platforms. The announcement is paired with a discount on training for a limited time after the release.
“The improvements in our latest release of OpenGeo Suite focus on providing enterprise customers with increased flexibility around creating, styling, and publishing maps and applications,” said David Raissipour, Senior Vice President of Products at Boundless.
This release introduces OpenGeo Suite Composer, a tool that enables enterprise customers to create and share maps. Composer allows anyone to design custom maps by making it easier to add data to GeoServer, style layers, and publish to the web from a clutter-free, easy-to-use interface. Composer makes styling layers easier with YSLD, a compact, modern syntax that’s 100% compatible with the Open Geospatial Consortium SLD standard.
To further improve styling and publishing, Boundless announced QGIS support offerings starting at $150 per seat for OpenGeo Suite Enterprise customers seeking support for desktop GIS users in September of 2014. Users familiar with desktop applications now have an easy and powerful way of configuring OpenGeo Suite components. By integrating QGIS with OpenGeo Suite, Boundless offers a complete solution for editing, analyzing, and publishing spatial data and services without the need for proprietary software.
In addition to component upgrades and maintenance, OpenGeo Suite provides developers and organizations with improved installation options (including Ubuntu 14), bundled extensions, quality assurance, and more comprehensive documentation than community components. The latest version of OpenGeo Suite Enterprise is designed for users with complex deployment requirements who want to build robust solutions for demanding production environments that often require features such as connections to enterprise databases, advanced runtime environments, or sophisticated clustering solutions in support of scalability requirements.
“We consistently add features and functionality to our software based on customer needs, which increasingly center around integrating with complex enterprise applications that marry spatial data with information from other IT systems,” said Ann Johnson, CEO of Boundless.
In addition to the new features in OpenGeo Suite 4.5, Boundless will provide a 45% discount for training on the platform for a week following the release.
