Quantum3D Announces Independence IDX 8000 Image Generator

Next Generation Simulation and Training Image Generator Builds on Industry's Most Compact Architecture for Reliable and Efficient Performance

ORLANDO, Dec. 1, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  (I/ITSEC Booth #2000) --  Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of visual computing solutions for government and commercial applications, today announced its next generation high-performance and high-quality image generator for simulation and training – the Independence IDX 8000. Building on the success of the revolutionary compact IDX 7000 series, this new IDX 8000 image generator is built on the latest in visual computing technology, including Intel's Haswell-based CPUs and NVIDIA's Quadro K-series GPUs for the best performance and the highest levels of scene quality and realism available today.

The IDX 8000 includes Mantis® - Quantum3D's award-winning software for real-time visual simulation.  Based on modern GPU shader programming and with its vast array of plug-ins for special effects, Mantis is well suited to exploit the new levels of hardware power within the IDX 8000. And when packaged with Quantum3D's GeoScapeSE® World-Wide Database, IDX 8000 provides an out-of-the-box solution that's ready to fly to thousands of airports, cities, and other destinations around the globe.

Thanks to its unique compact form factor, IDX 8000 packs 2 or 4 independent visual channels per 1U rack-mountable module. IDX 8000 is a versatile and powerful simulation and training system that can be setup in a dedicated room, or easily transported to meet a range of onsite, on-location and mobile training needs.

Built with robust enterprise-grade server components, IDX 8000 provides a reliable platform designed to maximize uptime and availability.  The IDX 8000 is equipped with advanced environmental monitoring technology and a unique fault-tolerant centralized storage system to ensure years of trouble-free service. Quantum3D offers support programs along with service and repair guarantees for up to 10 years or more.

"Our customers want not only the best performance, but also a level of comfort that their IG will reliably work when needed and is serviceable and maintainable for a long time," said Jan Bjernfalk, vp of products, Quantum3D. "The IDX 8000 meets all these needs, delivering performance, reliability, and a service guarantee, so the customer doesn't need to trade one for the other."

Independence IDX 8000 is planned to be in production and available for delivery beginning in late Q1, 2015.
