Nov 13, 2014 -- New capabilities and multiple improvements implemented in pSeven 4.0 deliver improved quality, robustness and reliability of designed products, uncertainty management at the design, manufacturing and operating stages, direct integration with PTC Creo, advanced approximation technique for complex data fusion problems and increased efficiency of optimization. Additionally, numerous enhancements of monitoring of workflow execution, results visualization and other usability improvements make navigation and searching for the data obtained from running pSeven much more intuitive and convenient.
Uncertainty Management available
Specialists from a wide spectrum of industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, chemical and many others face the need to evaluate the influence of uncertain parameters (material properties, operating conditions, etc.) on the technical and operational characteristics of the product in order to ensure its efficient, reliable and safe operation. New Uncertainty Management functionality in pSeven 4.0 provides engineers with a complete set of capabilities to validatethe designed product robustness , study the behavior and possible ways to improve these products, which leads to less redesign and warranty service cost saving.
Powerful CAD interoperability tools are upgraded in pSeven 4.0 with the new block to integrate Creo® computer-aided design system by PTC. It now ensures the full support of Creo parts and assemblies, global variables and unit specifications, as well as an easy connection of document parameters with pSeven workflow variables. This eliminates manual setting of all the parameters in pSeven block, allows instant actions with Creo models and significantly improves user experience.
Data monitoring, analysis and usability improvements
To make results post-processing more efficient and fully-featured, several new plot types are introduced in the latest pSeven release, including interactive structured parallel coordinates plots to visualize and analyze high-dimensional multivariate data, histogram plots to analyze point distributions, scatter plot matrices to visualize correlations in multidimensional data. Moreover, specialized descriptive statistics tool is implemented in pSeven 4.0 for basic univariate analysis and estimating correlations. Numerous usability improvements are introduced in the workflow execution monitoring. These new features guarantee time saving and ease of problem setup, running and results analysis in pSeven.
New Multiple Fidelity Gaussian Processes technique and optimization efficiency increase
Important improvements of MACROS 4.0 – new release of pSeven’s algorithmic core – should be noted. Approximation module is now enhanced with the new data fusion technique called Multiple Fidelity Gaussian Processes (MFGP). This data fusion technique allows using an arbitrary number of training samples containing data of different fidelity.
In the domain of optimization capabilities, a new Large-Scale Surrogate Based Optimization algorithm has been implemented. It allows solving engineering optimization problems of higher dimensionality with less calls to the solver. Also the overall SBO runtime has been significantly reduced.
Many other enhancements, expanded capabilities and usability improvements of pSeven and MACROS technology are available in pSeven 4.0 Release notes and MACROS 4.0 changelog.
