ERGON allows IESVE users to use real building operational data within their building models
30 October, 2014 - IES has launched its new Cloud service,
ERGON, which enables users of its Virtual Environment (VE) technology to import, manage and interrogate real building profiles or schedules and use them in VE simulations. It enables them to utilise measured data from the actual building they’re investigating to create profiles that enhance model calibration or use normalised benchmark data from other buildings of its type. Such profiles can be used to improve building operational performance and help close the performance gap by bringing design models closer to reality.

- Simulate buildings using real metered data, down to 1 minute time-steps
- Aid in delivering Soft Landing and undertake Post Occupancy Evaluations
- Deliver next generation M&V using enhanced energy model calibration and monitoring based commissioning required by LEED V4
Last month, IES hosted a Faculty event in London on the topic ofclosing the performance gap. The event drew in a large crowd of building professionals all keen to understand how this can be achieved. ERGON evoked an excited response,

Enhanced Operational Model. Where previously the Operational model would involve site visits and laborious data analysis, the Enhanced Operational Model automates much of this and allows a much more efficient and effective workflow.â€

ERGON Getting Started training webinars are already underway with the next one taking place on Monday 10th November. The webinars take users on a tour of ERGON, showing them what functionality is offered and how it integrates with the VE to offer them powerful enhanced calibration on design and operational models.
